Small Business Health Insurance 

Many small businesses choose to offer their employees health insurance in order to attract and retain talented workers. Health insurance helps employers reduce turnover by offering valuable benefits that are part of the total compensation package.

Small business health insurance is available in five main types: traditional indemnity plans, preferred provider organizations (PPO), point-of-service plans (POS), high deductible health plans (HDHP) and consumer-driven health plans (CDHP). Typically, all full-time employees are eligible for coverage under a group plan. Some companies opt to cover part-time employees as well. Group policies may or may not be extended to domestic partners or other adult dependents of covered employees. 

Rabco Agency Plans

Rabco Agency plans are designed for employers who want to offer comprehensive coverage with access to preferred providers at an affordable cost. Rabco Agency plans usually require that the insured obtain a referral from his/her primary care physician before seeing a specialist or other qualified health care provider, but they typically allow employees more flexibility than traditional indemnity insurance in terms of where and when medical services are received. These types of plans typically include generous maternity/newborn benefits as well as preventive care, physician office visits, diagnostic tests, and lab services, hospital stays (inpatient and outpatient), emergency room services, dental/orthodontic treatment (benefits vary by state), vision benefits (with some) and prescription drug coverage.
